August 4, 2005
Dear friends,
Our annual picnic and General Body meeting held on July 24, 2005 was a great success with record number of participants, very competitive cricket games, sumptuous food and activities for all. We had a wonderful day to enjoy at the exclusive riverside spot at Erindale Park in Mississauga. The anticipated thundershowers had disappeared and made the event go smoother.
The enthusiastic cricketers showed up early and kept on playing even after the food was served. The ladies cricket game was also a big hit this time. There were more that 12 teams of ladies eagerly playing cricket! The special game for Seniors and breaking the pot game was an added attraction this year. 6 enthusiastic seniors shopped happily at the KS Grocers and won prizes. Blind folded ladies tried to break the clay pots and watermelons. Everyone participated in the Bingo game arranged effectively by Umakanth and Mani. You can see the photos on our website www.kstoronto.com Children, adults and seniors had a good time with watermelons, barbecued Corn, snacks, majjige neeru and delicious food.
A "Beedhi Nataka" by Brinda Murali and group was truly sensational and gave a new dimension to KS picnic.
Prizes for game winners, Trophies for the Cricket winners and Youth Scholarships were distributed at the General Body Meeting. Trophies and prizes for the games were sponsored by our own Manju Kuppa of Remax and Anthony of Gold Key Financials. Annual report and Financial Statements were presented which showed another successful past year.
We thank everyone of you who attended and helped out in various areas at the picnic. We thank you volunteers who have brought soft drinks, watermelons, chips, cookies, neeru majjige etc. Your kind donation brought a lot of color to the fun filled day.
