KS Toronto in AKKA 2006 

KS Toronto was represented in AKKA, in all its departments. KS Toronto’s presence was felt by most of the visitors and participants in various activities. The Executive Committee of AKKA was surprised to see a large representation of the Kannadigas from Toronto both in the General Body meeting and other wise. The representation of KS Toronto in the General Body was almost 40 % . Not only did the representative of KS Toronto propagate the need to have AKKA 2008 in Toronto, but the other members who attended the meeting vociferously insisted that Toronto must get the next AKKA convention. It was even more surprising for the members of Kannada Sangha Toronto that many people who were participating, expressed their desire to be in Toronto for the next convention and are looking forward to it.
A booth was also sponsored on behalf of KS Toronto. Excellent banners in Kannada  were displayed, although there were no one who could be in the booth. Thanks to Satish for making very attractive banners in Kannada. Thanks to Brinda and Murali for good slogans in Kannada on the banner.

Co-chairs for AKKA 2008, Manjunath Kuppa and Mahesh Shrinivasa from KS Toronto had gathered a hefty sum of over US$ 30,000 for the Washington convention sharing our happiness with Kaveri.

Kalaaranga of Toronto produced a musical show for over 20 minutes and had a very great impact on the strengths, skills and solidarity of  Toronto. This was a unique show in AKKA and it received great applause and appreciation.

The word has spread around the Kannada Community in North America and even in Karnataka about the enthusiasm and spirit with which Toronto is looking forward to host the convention. Many are convinced that it is only a formal stamp that is required.
