Ugadi Celebrations - BEVU BELLA
-April, 19, 2008

Kannada Sangha celebrated the Ugadi festival with Bevu Bella, on Saturday April 19, 2008, held at At Port Credit Secondary School, toronto. The event was successful and everyone enjoyed the music dance and a sumptuous dinner. Click on the picture to view the album.

 

A day deep in Culture
-April, 12, 2008

The third program of "A Day Deep in Culture" was held at Veena Cavale's house. Children were excited to join together and get to know about The Kannada New Year "Ugadi", how it is celebrated and its significance.Children were also given hands-on project and played games. It was fun to learn and they look forward to another day like this. Click on the picture to view the album.

 

Matheletics 2008
-29th February 2008

Kannada Sangha conducted an event exclusively for the youth. It was an academically useful event called "Mathletics". This event was intended to make children feel very comfortable with maths. This program was suggested and coordinated by youth members of Kannada Sangha with the assistance of the Executive Committee. Professional Engineers of Ontario Mississauga and Scarborough chapters have sponsored this event. TD bank also assisted us towards the prizes for the children.

Cultural Day “Taala Taranga”
-9th February 2008

The entertainment was the best combination of renowned artists and cultural schools entertaining together on our stage. Talent show by the children of Kannada Sangha members was very well managed with tiny tots and the youngsters performing very well on the stage. We do have some real wiz kids ! "GREAT WORK" ! WONDERFUL PERFORMANCE BY THE TEAM !

Panorama India
-3 rd February 2008

Panorama India, an umbrella organization of all Indo-Candian cultural organizations in the GTA, with the support of Consulate-General of India, celebrated 59th Republic Day of India on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Pearson Convention Centre. Celebration included a variety of entertainment programs showcasing dances and music from the various regions of India.

A day deep in Culture
-January, 12, 2008

The Second event of the children program "A day deep in culture" was organized in Veena Cavale's house and the strength of the students doubled from last time. The topic of the day was "Sankranti". It was a fun filled environment for children learning more about our Sankranti and its significance. Children enjoyed every minute of their program and are looking forward to the next program.

Visiting Dignitary to Kannada Sangha

KS organized a discourse by Parama Pujya Shri Shri Nimishananda, at The Party Hall, Ground Floor Bransfield House 511 The West Mall Ont M9C 1G5. Swamiji is a renowned, dynamic, and inspiring Sadguru. He visited Toronto as part of his North American visit to rejuvenate spiritual values of love, compassion, truth, peace and non violence in society

Casino Rama - December 9, 2007

KS organized an excellent trip to Casino Rama. There was overflowing entertainment which encouraged everyone to participate. Eats were in plenty and was free flowing. Nada Habba - 24 November 2007

'Kannada intensive' NadaHabba program was organized by KS. It was a great event for the audience, the committee and of course the choreographers who came in big number to support this Kannada event. Jet Airways - November 24, 2007

Thanks to Jet Airways for being the "Ardent Supporter of Kannada Sangha" by sponsoring two return tickets to India (Chennai). Kannada Sangha also thanks Raju Chander and Vyjayanti Chander for highest donations to Kannada Sangha and winning these two return tickets to India (Chennai).

Culture class - October 28, 2007

Veena Cavle recently made the first attempt in running a small cultural class for our young kids. There were a nice mix of boys and girls. This was a great experience for the kids too. Special thanks to Swati for the help in putting together the activities for the children. Ganesha Habba - September 29, 2007

Kannada Sangha recently held their annual Ganesha Habba function at The Gore Temple in Brampton. And as always, the turnout of KST members was great, and the food was scrumptious and enjoyed by all. The function included a Ganesha sculpting contest for teens and a colouring contest for children. Click on the picture to view the album.

 

Independence Day Celebrations: To commemorate the 60th Anniversary of India's Independence, Kannada Sangha Toronto joined the celebrations organized by Panorama India and the glory of Karnataka was showcased to the people of Toronto on August 19, 2007.
